We're excited to share that after 40 years of sport, the existing courts at Kevin Betts Stadium are getting a well-deserved upgrade. The floors on Courts 1 and 2 plus the foyer and meeting/storage rooms will be getting replaced.

 

Works inside the building will commence on 1 December 2026 and are expected to be completed mid-February 2027.

Note that there will also be external works occurring at the stadium. These will commence mid-October 2026 and should not impact stadium users.

FAQ

What are the key dates for the project?

• 16 October 2026: external works to commence (minimal/no impact to users)

• 1 December 2026: internal works commence. Entry will be via new reception, only courts 3 and 4 will be available.

• March 2027: all works scheduled to be completed 
   

Which court is getting replaced first?
We're replacing both court 1 and 2 at once.

 

What type of surface will it be?

The surface will be the same as we have in the new section (courts 3 & 4).

Will the external works impact my booking/s?

The external works will commence mid-October. These works are unlikely to impact bookings on courts 1 and 2.

How do I access the venue when works are underway?
While works are underway, the main entry will be via the new reception area.  From 1 December, please head to the new reception on arrival. Staff will direct you to the appropriate court/s.

How can I view my bookings?
You can continue to view your bookings on the booking platform. 
 

My regular booking is on court 3 or 4. Will I be impacted?
If your booking is during a peak period, you may be asked to amend your booking time to allow impacted groups to have fair access. 
 

Is anything happening to the foyer area and main storage room?
Yes, this area is also having the floors replaced. The storage room outside the canteen will be unavailable while works are underway.

How do I access my equipment that’s normally in the storage room?
Equipment will be temporarily moved to other storage areas in KBS.
Please consider other users and only store essential items at KBS.  See staff on the day if you require access to your equipment.

Canteen:
The main canteen will be unavailable while works are underway. We will be operating a reduced offering in the new reception area.  This will be cashless (ie EFTPOS only).

Will parking be impacted?
The builder will occupy all carparks near the stadium entrance during business hours. These will be marked. Do NOT park in these spots. The easier we make things for the construction team, the quicker the work will be completed.

 

​Where can I park?
During business hours, please be respectful of the construction team and only park in the available parking adjacent to the sports fields. Reminder that the accessible parking is only available to vehicles displaying a valid accessible parking permit. Council rangers do patrol the area.

Will there be any out-of-bounds areas?

Please access the stadium via designated footpaths only. Do not enter the construction area/s under any circumstances. Please follow the directions of staff at all times.

 

Has the Emergency Evacuation point changed?

Unless we advise otherwise, the emergency evacuation point has NOT changed. In the unlikely event of an evacuation, follow the directions of staff down the driveway to the emergency muster point in the sports field.
