Changing Lives Through Sport

In the 1980's there were no accessible sporting facilities for people with a disability in NSW. A tenacious bunch of Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT members fundraised to build a purpose-built venue, Kevin Betts Stadium (KBS).

Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT, under their Social Business, Adaptive Venue Management, have managed KBS since it opened in 1986, with profit reinvested into providing sporting opportunities for people living with a disability.  

The NSW Government recognised the value of the facility for people with disabilities and the wider community, providing funding to double the number of courts from two to four. The new courts are opening in October 2025.
